Is your Google Account Safe? [Google Tip]

One of the mostĀ disastrousĀ things that can happen, is having your account hijacked. For some people, it may not be a big deal, but for the majority of us, it would be like someone breaking into our home and going through our stuff.

Google knows how important your email is, so in honor of National Cyber Security Awareness Month, they have created a checklist and some information to help safeguard your Google account from curious eyes.

The checklist is pretty simple and may take you 5 minutes or so to complete if you need to make a lot of changes. For the most part, there isn’t anything on the list you shouldn’t already be doing.

The list is a great reminder to do things like:

  • Change your password
  • Rethink plug-ins and other programs you allow access to your Google account
  • Check for recent activity
  • Frequently clear forms, cookies and anything else that saves your information

What is your process for keeping your information safeguarded?
